While the Bible provides comprehensive guidance for all aspects of life, it does not organize itself by topic. A well-selected book on a topic such as marriage compiles the biblical teaching and helps with understanding and practical application. Each month, our focus extends beyond reading to include a specific exercise related to the book's theme. These monthly assignments are designed to challenge participants to stretch beyond their usual boundaries.
Topics we cover:
- Personal testimony. Apart from telling the story of Jesus Christ, your own story is the most important one you will ever tell. Many men struggle to articulate their faith journey. We work on how to tell your story.
- Manhood. Biblical manhood is often misunderstood and actively challenged. We return to Scripture to understand God's original design and purpose.
- Marriage. As the man thrives, so does the marriage, and consequently, the family thrives. Marriage is about fully giving of oneself without expecting anything in return, embodying Christ's sacrificial love.
- Spiritual disciplines. Prayer, worship, fasting, and Scripture study are not routine obligations but vital actions that engage us more deeply with God.
- Financial stewardship. How we manage the resources God entrusts to us, aligning our financial habits with biblical principles.
- Prayer. Many men approach prayer as a checklist or a series of requests. We teach men to view prayer as the most critical part of their day.
- Character. Character determines how a man acts when no one is watching and under pressure. We aspire to live for an audience of one.
- The Gospel. Many men hesitate to share the Gospel because they have never practiced sharing it in a supportive environment. They learn to share it with others only after they understand it personally.
These topics are suggestions. Leaders can select from these themes or choose others that better suit their group. Consider your group's life stage. Focusing on marriage may be less relevant for a group of young, unmarried men.
