The practices
- Bible readingIn discipleship, our number one goal is to lay a foundation on God's Word. There are five reading assignments per week. Read daily, not all at once.
- JournalingThe expectation is for each person to complete two journal entries per week. The main goal is to create the habit of applying what we learn in God's Word.
- How do we memorize Scripture?Over the year, the group memorizes 30 verses, one a week. In discipleship, the aim is not information but transformation.
- How do we pray?Prayer is simply a conversation with God. You don't have to use special or churchy words. Speak to God as you would speak to someone you respect.
- Why do we read books?Reading books is an essential part of the Intentional Discipleship process.
- How to actively read a bookDuring a year in Intentional Discipleship, you will read several books.
- The monthly assignmentsWhile the Bible provides comprehensive guidance for all aspects of life, it does not organize itself by topic.
- AccountabilityAccountability is a cornerstone of effective discipleship. Everyone needs accountability. We are not designed to live life alone and unchecked.
