As you approach the last few months of your discipleship group, it is crucial to begin preparing your participants to replicate the experience. You must prepare them to launch from your group, or they will never become disciple-makers. There is great joy in seeing your disciples make disciples who make disciples.
Not everyone will be ready or inclined to launch their own group immediately. God has a unique plan for every member of your group. Some might find their calling in serving the church in new capacities, starting a ministry, or leading their families spiritually. These steps should be celebrated as significant victories. While it is beneficial to challenge each member to consider leading a group, supporting and celebrating those who are called in different directions is equally important.
Everyone has influence. It is how we leverage that influence in the lives of others that defines our lives. Choosing to do nothing with our influence is the same as negatively using our influence. We may be the only person who has the opportunity to reach a particular individual.
When God comes into a person's life, it is like an impact zone. Not only does He radically transform the individual, but He explodes out of them. It impacts their marriage, family, work, community, and beyond, and it reaches future generations. Every person's impact zone is different. Some will have the opportunity to reach a few, and others will reach thousands. Neither is more important than the other. Christ spent His time investing in 12 men, and they radically changed the world.
Here is the problem: many surrender their life to Christ but have yet to be discipled. When a new believer is left on their own, their growth is stunted, and the exploding out never happens. That is why discipleship is so essential.
How will you impact your world?
